In the forest lived a tribe of monkeys. Everyday when the sun rose they came out and searched for food and went back when the sun set. Day in and day out, they repeated the same routine and they led a happy life.
One day a tourist entered the forest and he dropped his wristwatch under a tree. It was picked up by a monkey by the name of Mango, who was a very intelligent monkey. Soon he found out the usage of the wristwatch. As a result he became the star of the tribe. Every monkey slowly learned to ask Mango the time of the day, especially on rainy days. The activity of the whole tribe would depend on Mango to determine. Mango built his popularity and no sooner he became the king.
Mango realised that the wristwatch brought him good luck. So he spent most of his time in the jungle to look for more watches. He was not disappointed as he found the second and third watches.
Out of his expectation, Mango discovered that he had trouble with three wristwatches as the time displayed on the watches was different from one and another. Mango could not determine which was the correct time.
The rest of the monkeys also realised that Mango could not tell them the correct time. His reputation was lost and the activity time of the whole tribe was in a mess.
This story tells us that :
- a person cannot have too many goals at the same time, otherwise nothing can be achieved.
- it cannot have two different methods of management in an enterprise, otherwise it is impossible for it to develop and grow.
